AFNETAID NEWS CORNER

Our Current Needs:

Just about half of our orphans still need sponsors to help cover the expenses related to their daily keep. $35 per month pays the way for each child in our program: That is; about a $1 a day provides for a child's meals, basic education program, school uniform and basic clothing needs, and loving oversight with long-term care!

A $15 per child, one-time donation will help us to put on a year-end function for our children at each of our 4 centers, providing a fun-filled craft-day and Christmas party, with a personal gift for each child.

If you would like to help with one of these needs by making an on-going, or a one time donation, just type "Orphan Sponsorship" or "Year-end Function" in the Note box below and the amount of your donation then click on the Donate button.  It's that easy!

Why we do it

John 21:15
Jesus spoke to Simon Peter. He asked, "Simon, son of John, do you really love me more than these others do?" "Yes, Lord," he answered. "You know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

James 2:15
Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is useless.

Matthew 25:34
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

Mark 6:34
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. "This is a remote place," they said, "and it's already very late. Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat."
But he answered, "You give them something to eat."
They said to him, "That would take almost a year's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?"
"How many loaves do you have?" he asked. "Go and see."
